Christopher G. Shirkey, D.V.M.
Dr. Shirkey received his Bachelor's of Science degree from North Central College in 1997. He received his Master's of Science degree from Northern Illinois University in 1999. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 2003. His animals include: Four dogs: Moose, Decker, Gopher & Olive (2 of which were rescues), Four cats: L.B., J.J., Minion & Nimbus (all rescued), numerous fish...but his 10 year old Plecostomus is by far his most distinguished. In his spare time Dr. Shirkey enjoys running, participated in races and fossil collecting.
I enjoy seeing all of the patients and giving them the proper care they need to be healthy and happy throughout their lives.
Heather Shirkey-Practice Manager
Heather has been the Office Manager since the doors opened at Shirkey Veterinary Clinic in 2008. She has studied at Western Illinois University and Parkland College. Heather and Dr. Shirkey have 2 children and all of the above pets! Throughout the years the entire family has helped with several strays, from adults to 2 week old kittens. It is a passion to bring them along their journey and then get them to their forever homes. In her spare time Heather enjoys being co-leader of her church senior high youth group, being a Sunday School teacher, spending time with her family and reading.

Megan-Certified Veterinary Technician
Megan joined our staff in June of 2012. She received her C.V.T degree from Fox College in 2012. Megan is married to Tim and they have one son. Her pets include: Daisy, Tad, Orion & Boulder. Megan enjoys playing bass guitar, taking photos and she is currently working towards 5K runs.

Tori starting working with us in April 2013. Her family consists of all her furry babies and husband Dana. She has seven cats, two dogs, three horses and one rabbit. Tori has studied at JJC and Colorado State University. Her hobbies outside work include: training Arabian dressage horses, re-finishing furniture, gardening and anything outdoors.
I enjoy the client interaction and love being able to work with the animals.
Lora-Front Desk Staff
Lora joined our staff in September 2014. She is married to John and they have three children. Her pets include Maggie and Macy. When she is not working Lora enjoys reading, gardening and scrapbooking.
I have learned a lot. It's great to see all the different pets and their personalities.
